Granpa's 87th birthday

Grandpa's B day was a total success. Tom and I felt guilty for not helping more due to the fact that we took a day trip to the weed capital of America, but it seemed to come together without us just fine. $200 at Costco and a drunk cousin that wouldn't stop telling "TMI" stories later the partying began. It was complete with unruly children, groups of family meeting again or for the first time, and grandpa decked out in pirate gear and hearing aids. It wound down pretty early but I guess that's what happens as people get older and have babies etc. When I would have normally been wasted sitting by the fire with the cousins, I was sitting in the kitchen watching numerous family members make funny faces at my baby...ahh, life is good right now. Albeit different, but cozy in a new baby kind of way.
